26th Annual State of the Community Address

The 26th Annual State of the Community Address has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 25. We are delighted to host this special event, which brings together local and state leaders to reflect on the achievements and share their vision for 2025.

Join us as elected officials from our three local jurisdictions — Buena Vista, Lexington, and Rockbridge County — along with our state legislators, provide an insightful review of 2024 and offer a look ahead at the exciting prospects for our community in the coming year.

The event will begin with doors opening at 7:15 a.m., followed by a delicious breakfast buffet to enjoy before the official program begins at 8:00 a.m. Featured speakers will bring you engaging insights and inspiring remarks.

CareerFest

On Tuesday, March 18, the Chamber of Commerce will host CareerFest at the Virginia Horse Center, offering middle school students the chance to explore various career paths across the region. The hands-on event allows students to interact with businesses of all sizes, gaining insights into industries like manufacturing, healthcare, outdoor recreation, agriculture, education, business, public service, hospitality, information technology, professional services, and transportation. The day begins with an introduction at the Horse Center Mezzanine, followed by visits to various career clusters in the Concourse, where students spend about 5 minutes at each station. The event gives them a glimpse into future career possibilities within their community.
